Youth Aqua Fit Swim Team

Just wanted to thank you for helping Faith last semester with swimming. I think that the combination of technique teaching, drills with meaning rather than repetition, a little rest, and most importantly, love and acceptance by you all to Faith really helped her. When she went back to WHAT, she found herself to be the top of her original level, Royale, and now she is even in the middle of the next level, Silver. Youth Aqua Fit (YAF) Program

YAF is a swim program for summer league swimmers 8 years and older. YAF is offered three times a year (two full sessions and one mini session): January - March (full session), April (mini session), and September - December (full session). The program is non-competitive and its objective is to keep the "swim team" kids swimming year round. The program focuses on improving stroke mechanics and overall fitness level during the off season.

  • Must be 8 years and older.

  • Swimmers need to know all 4 strokes as well as other swim skills that will be assessed in the mandatory tryout session.

  • Swimmers who still need to work on the 4 strokes should consider enrolling in a Learn to Swim session.

 

Pre-Youth Aqua Fit Swim Program

Our Pre-Youth Aqua Fit swim program is offered is offered three times a year (two full sessions and one mini session): January - March (full session), April (mini session), and September - December (full session). The Pre-Youth Aqua Fit program is designed for swimmers who are "legal" in freestyle and backstroke, and may know breast stroke and butterfly but not swim them correctly. The objective of this program is to continue improvement on free and back and gain legal status in breast and fly. Race starts and general swim team conditioning are covered as well. Pre-Youth Aqua Fit is a non-competitive program.

  • Must be 8 years and older.

  • Swimmers new to Pre-YAF are required to attend a mandatory tryout session. Call the Swim Office to reserve your tryout spot.

Summer Tryout dates are at 10:45am on May 25, June 1, June 8, June 15 and Fall Tryout Dates are June 22, June 29, July 6, July 13, July 20 and July 27. Call to reserve your tryout spot. 281-759-1748.
