May 2009. I am extremely grateful to the inspiration,
guidance and teaching I received from MAC trainers, Sue Donahoe and Felipe
Verochea by introducing the Pounds-a-weigh program in October, 2008. I was in a slump as I was trying to "on my own" develop a healthy lifestyle. In July, 2008 my doctor explained to me that I was at risk for a stroke due to my overweight and bad eating habits. I immediately started following the doctor's advice by eating healthy and slowly began walking on the treadmill. I was only able to exercise for 15-20 minutes without feeling out of breath. After about one month of following doctor's orders, the weight slowly came off primarily by eating fish, vegetables and fruit and drinking lots and lots of water. Around October I was feeling a bit in a slump and didn't know if I could do it by myself much longer. Then, the MAC introduced the PAW (Pounds-a-weigh) program. It was just what I needed to reach the next level with trainers who knew how to guide me. The program has been very successful for me. I am dedicated to my health and being healthy. I choose to be healthy rather than have to deal with health problems. I have all the tools I need at the MAC to continue to motivate me and answer any questions. In February, 2009, I successfully completed a 4 hour Spinning Ride for Cancer. In my wildest dreams I could have never imagined such a challenge. Just 7 months ago I weighed almost 200 lbs. Today, I'm healthy and strong and have lost 65 lbs. I don't let food control me. I control food. I don't take in more than I put out. I have moments when I've indulged into those unhealthy bites but I don't allow myself to binge. I eat 4 to 5 meals a day and exercise regularly to keep me sane from the stresses of life. As a result, the exercise makes me feel good. I now wear a size 6 and have donated my size 16-18 to charity so I never have to look at that person in the mirror again. My health is important to me and I hold myself responsible, but I could not have achieved this success without the MAC PAW program and my great inspirators Sue D. and Felipe V. Thank you for keeping me motivated. Christina Sehn |
