All of our personal trainers, led by Fitness Director Jefferson Biehl, are certified through nationally recognized organizations. Whether you are a novice or experienced athlete, training for your first 5K or marathon, riding in the MS 150 from Houston to Austin, or looking to lose a few extra pounds, the MACAC and MAC for Women offer several fitness instruction options that will help you get fit!
You can work one-on-one with one of our highly qualified personal trainers or take advantage of one of our two fitness orientation programs where we design a fitness routine that you can follow on your own.
Fitness Instruction Options
The Fast Track
The Fast Track program is a 45-minute orientation to the our clubs' cardiovascular and weight room area. Included in the orientation are introductions to and demonstrations of our Cybex/Lifefitness Strength Line Circuits, cardiovascular equipment and Cardio Theatre systems.
The Fast Track orientation session is free to all MACAC members and can be scheduled at the front desk.
General Fitness Instruction Appointment
Our General Fitness Instruction sessions consist of two 1-hour fitness orientation appointments. During the first apointment, a fitness instructor will complete a brief health screening, which includes pulse and blood pressure readings, body composition analysis, circumferential measurements, body weight and height measurements, and then introduce you to the cardiovascular equipment and Cardio Theatre system.
During the second appointment, a general weight training circuit program will be designed for you on our Cybex/Lifefitness Strength Line Circuits with emphasis on proper form and technique.
The General Fitness Instruction is free to all MACAC members and requires scheduling with the front desk.
Personal Training
The MACAC is proud to offer our members the option of personal training. The personal trainer helps the member obtain their fitness goals safely and efficiently by providing expert fitness information. Our personal training programs are for anyone having difficulty meeting their goals due to lack of discipline, time constraints or simply not knowing where to start. All MACAC personal trainers are nationally certified, CPR certified and have at least one year of experience as a fitness instructor.
Body Balance Assessment
New programming! A dynamic movement assessment designed to identify imbalances in your strength and flexibility. Digital photographs are taken to determine areas of weakness and a corrective exercise program is designed to specifcally address any compensation pattern.
The BBA assessment is completed in three separate appointments: 1) the initial 30-minute evaluation session, 2) one hour session addressing flexibility, and, finally, 3) one hour addressing strength training.
This program requires an additional fee of $100 and advanced scheduling with a trained BBA instructor.
